Ah, the first .Hack game. Basically it's a GIANT rpg divided into 4 parts. infection, mutation, outbreak, and quarantine. Having beaten the first 3 games, i can start with the first one. Infection is an interesting game. the basic premise? it's a giant online rpg where it's complete virtual reality called "the world". Then, something happens. weird virus filled areas start to come up with undefeatable monsters. the main character kite (you) ends up getting a bracelet that can used to defeat these monsters. along the way you gain people in your party and try to stop these viruses.

      most of the people in the party are GREAT. a lot are voiced by an all star cast of anime VA's such as crispan freeman......well......then again, he's in everything. The only character that's not cool is your second, Blackrose. Annoying girl who ends up dying every 3 minutes and you have to use up all of your resurrections.......idiot.....

     Some levels have mandatory characters, but most leave it to your imagination. I thoroughly enjoyed the first game. it was even better that it could be in first person (i'm glad about that) the game would have been perfect if not for three words. "Linear plot line"

Head: definitley an original game that i found quite refreshing. 7

Eye: definitley great, the animation style is VERY animeish, and to top it off, Dialogue, not reading. 8

Heart: there wasn't TOO much character development that i noticed.....that's probably the only thing it was missing. 6

Extra  yes, just, because they like us so much, they threw in an added bonus of a free 45 minute anime dvd!!! YAY!! it's the first part of an anime 4 parter in which a girl's friend goes into a coma because of the world......but, i won't get into it. (+2 bonus)

Total: 21 + 2 bonus = 23

In general, good game, i recommend the hours it takes to play all 4
