I! My! Me! Strawberry Eggs!
yes. before you ask, yes. That's a man
  I! My! Me! Strawberry Eggs!
Here we have the epitamy of the crossdressing anime, Strawberry Eggs. Don't ask how it got such a weird ass name, because, to tell you the truth... i don't know. regardless, onto the show. In this show Hibiki Amawa (played by Crispin freeman of all people), a guy who just graduated from teaching school, is trying desperatly to become a gym teacher. So, he tries his luck at this private school out in the suburbs. Problem is, the feminist principal only hires women. So what's a poor gym teacher to do? That's right, dress up like a girl and gain a second voice actor for the same character. Ranma, eat your heart out. donning the feminine clothes, lipstick, a voice changing device, and.... other feminine things, he becomes, (to the best of my knowledge) the first secretive anime crossdressing gym teacher. However, before he/she is hired, there's something Hibiki has to do. That's right, teach the WORST athlete in the school (Fuku Kuzuha) how to run 100 feet without tripping over her own two feet. (even though she's adorable while doing it. ^_^) after about 10 tries, she succeeds, and leaps into her gym teacher's arms, in very yuri looking scene.
Throughout this show Kuzuha begins to fall in love with the gym teacher, but she tries not to show it because they're both women. (Lucky for the 14 year old, it's only a 22 year old wearing drag, so it's perfectly fine. hee hee)
This is actually quite a good show. i really have nothing negative to say about this show, and that's the end. the ending was not great. other than that, i loved it.
Head: definitly a unique concept. i don't think it's done that often, but it has just enough comedy mixed in at the right times and not during important dramatic moments. The characters are very original and memorable too. Head: 8

Eye: I LOVE this animation style. it's one of my absolute favorites. mad props to these points. 9.5

Heart: like i said before. only bad thing? ending. other than that, the emotions were great, (except for bitch girl, but every anime has one.) 7

Total out of 30: 24.5

Case Closed
Case closed (aka Detective Conan). Quite possibly one of the LONGEST running animes. with over 350 episodes and still running strong, Case closed is worth it. The story centers around Jimmy Kudo. A young boy who's destined to be the next Sherlock Holmes, witnesses something he shouldn't have and gets turned into a kid by this weird drug that's supposed to kill people. hmm... guess they fired the lab guys for that one. anyway, now posing as Conan Edigawa (a jumble of his favorite authors) he's a 10 year old who has to solve every crime that comes his way, and let me tell you, this is NOT a kid show. With deaths more gruesome than freddy krueger, and crimes harder to figure out than a rubik's cube, this show has it all. Since only one other person knows about his condition which his crazy next door neighbor inventor, (man.......why can't I have one of those?) he goes to live with Rachel (his main squeeze) posing as a cousin of the inventor's.
This show is great for many reasons, but the biggest is the fact that you can't solve this mysteries for the life of you. these are such ridiculously hard riddles you'd have to ask steven hawkings, but you know what? i don't think even HE'D be able to figure these out. If you want to feel REALLY stupid, this is a good show to stump your genius friends and knock them down a peg.

Head: Very original. Many of the detective anime shows really aren't about the mysteries and are focused on the characters, but this show is definitly based upon the mysteries. i love it, and it's one of those shows that really can't run out of story ideas. 8

Eye: Interesting. it's a mixture of what i like, and what i don't. i didn't think it was possible, but i like the combination. 8

Heart: only thing i DON'T like is rachel and jimmy thing. it's too angsty. other than that, great. 7

Total out of 30: 23
So, go out and buy the first dvd, you won't be disappointed

Kaleido Star
The circus anime! It's true! This show is completely about a girl (Sora) who wants to be in the Kaleido Stage which is a circus-like thing. She finds it, gets there late, ends up getting in through an unusual circumstance, and now, has to prove herself, and hopefully, get as good as her hero, leela, a prissy american woman who's the star attraction at Kaleido stage, along with Yuri who we find out later is evil. but i digress. Sora meets her new friends here, anna and Mia, who stick by her throughout all the ideals that come her way. She goes from being a replacement for a minor character, to the star of her own show. Then, when everything's going great, the stuff really hits the fan, but, i won't give it away. and oh yes. she can see an invisible 1 foot dude who can foretell the future named the fool. (have to add a little bit of fantasy)
This is a very memorable show. Even with the lack of crazy coincidences and thousands of girls on top of one shy guy, this show is quite simply extraordinary. to take an idea that real life would have screwed up entirely and turned it into a GREAT anime, hence the reason sora's on my list of anime girls.
Head: Very different. an acrobat show? it seemed odd at first, but they pulled it off really well. a show i thought was only going to be 26 episodes ended up being 52!! what could they do for the last 26? head: 8

Eye: Animation isn't really the best thing, but there are certain good points. 7

Heart: aww........Sora's so cute. 8

one last piece of advice. if you see this in english, put earplugs on when you hear ken. trust me. you'll thank me.
